 Meigs Jewelry, a family owned and operated store, opened its doors to Tahlequah in 1960. Meigs’ primary goal was to provide northeastern Oklahoma with quality jewelry and excellent customer service.
In 1986, after nearly 30 years in business, Meigs was purchased by long-time Tahlequah residents Al & Phyllis Mutzig. Their continued goal of excellence laid the groundwork for Meigs Jewelry to become the outstanding establishment that it is today.
Twelve years later, in January of 1998, the Mutzig’s son, Todd, and his wife, Paula, took over the store. They immediately devoted themselves to taking Meigs’ products and services to a higher level than ever before.
After only a year, Todd and Paula’s efforts had paid off, and it was clear that Meigs Jewelry had outgrown its current location and would have to make a big move. The decision was made to purchase a large corner building next to Tahlequah’s historic Court House Square. After extensive renovations, the building had been turned into a hallmark establishment, with more than 4,000 square feet to better serve its customers. With the ambiance of yesteryear and a flair for modern style, Meigs Jewelry was once again open for business.
